Terrifying news of the moment: I got my dad an LJ so that he could talk about his solar cooker on the WWW.
Ahaha, so much for doing a whole bunch of writing. I've been properly distracted by anime. XD Nonetheless, I managed to get this out for Loveless, instead of PoT as I'd originally intended.
Title: Burning Bright
Rating: G
Genre: General, Romance
Summary: Sometimes, he would like to know that he's wanted.
Ritsuka is sitting on the steps that lead to Soubi's flat, fiddling with the cuff of his shirt and fighting back the hurt that's been simmering in his blood since last night.
Last night, his brother had shown up, frightfully alive and bringing Ritsuka happiness with the same hand that brought fear. Chasing after the thought - "My brother is alive. Thank you, God" - came quickly the worry: Please don't let Soubi leave me.
Ritsuka rubs his fingertips together - the ones that had clutched at the back of Soubi's jacket that night - and brings them to his lips. Soubi had smelled overwhelmingly of paint today, and Soubi only painted that much when there was something on his mind. He's concerned, but it's not yet enough to make him climb the stairs.
Above him, he could hear the sounds of Soubi's life. Soft movements and quiet clatters call to Ritsuka, making him listen closely and making him long to be up there, surrounded by the warmth of Soubi's home. The lights are on, yellow-orange and bright, and Ritsuka hears the door start to open.
Even as he scrambles up to run, Ritsuka's mind is screaming at him. At Soubi, too. (Choose me. Keep me. Love me.) He hates that he wants so much, but his heart is burning with the need for it.
"Ritsuka."
It's a whisper against the shell of his ear. It's a hand curling around his wrist, pulling him to a stop and then closer to heat and warmth, and Ritsuka wants to cry.
"Ritsuka," Soubi says again. "Why don't you stay? Please."
He should shake his head. Say no because Mother will worry or because there's school tomorrow. He should push Soubi away because this (pressed close, body-to-body) is too close and too hot and it burns like fire (the fire that killed his brother) and like the pain in his chest. Because-
Because it's Soubi and Soubi wants him to stay.
"Okay," he surrenders. "But only because you want me to."

Date: 2006-10-19 05:45 am (UTC)Anyhoo, thanks! I'm glad that you liked this.
Also, my dad being on LJ is cool because then he's occupied and he's getting online friends and fostering a growing LJ-obsession.
Which was my evil plan from the beginning. But then, he runs the risk of finding me and my rants on him, so... yes.(no subject)

Date: 2006-10-19 05:47 am (UTC)Although... perhaps a halloween one first. Or a thanksgiving! I think Ritsuka would enjoy being surrounded by food and friends during Thanksgiving!
